The United States overturned Trump's ban on foreign students entering the country, allowing Harvard University to continue accepting them.
According to Gate News bot, Bloomberg reports that a federal judge has issued another court order allowing Harvard University to continue accepting foreign students, a move aimed at overturning President Donald Trump's announcement banning foreign students from entering the United States.
U.S. District Judge Allison Burroughs approved a preliminary injunction on Monday that blocks the government from enforcing a June 4 announcement prohibiting international students from entering the school. The injunction extends a previous temporary ban.
She wrote: "This case involves core constitutional rights that must be upheld: freedom of thought, freedom of speech, and freedom of expression, all of which are pillars for the normal functioning of a democratic system and important safeguards against authoritarianism."
The ruling by Barlas is the second victory for Harvard University in a high-stakes battle with the Trump administration over its large international student population.
On June 20, a judge blocked an order issued by the U.S. government on May 22 that revoked Harvard University's eligibility to admit foreign students. Both administrative measures strike at the core of Harvard University—one measures aimed at Harvard's eligibility to enroll foreign students, while the other focuses on the issue of student entry.
