OpenAI is restructuring its compensation system and incentives to address the departure of researchers joining Meta.

PANews June 30 news, according to Yahoo Finance, in response to Meta (META) successfully poaching several senior researchers, an executive from OpenAI assured team members that the company's leadership was not "sitting idly by." Chief Research Officer Mark Chen stated that he, along with CEO Sam Altman and other OpenAI leaders, had been "working day and night to negotiate with those who received job offers," and that "we are readjusting our compensation system and looking for creative ways to recognize and reward top talent." In the past week, eight researchers have left OpenAI to join Meta. Altman even complained on a podcast that Meta offered a "$100 million signing bonus," while Meta executives internally refuted this.
