Pluto Studio changes vKitty-related Airdrop standards to combat robot accounts, opaque communication causes dissatisfaction among players
Odaily Planet Daily News After the distribution information of Catizen Airdrop was announced, some players were dissatisfied with the changes in the uncommunicated Token distribution model and allocation criteria, and the developer Pluto Studio admitted that they did not disclose the standard changes in advance. After the CATI Airdrop interface was opened, many players expressed disappointment on X because they received lower rewards than expected. In addition, earlier, the Catizen team stated that the vKitty income rate in the game would be the main determining factor for Airdrop distribution. However, earlier last Sunday, after revealing the Airdrop distribution to players, Pluto stated that it had actually changed the design of the Airdrop after discovering that some players were artificially increasing their income. It indicates, "During the review of the CATI Airdrop data, we found that many bot accounts exploited this public rule by using scripts to increase their vKitty profit rate, attempting to obtain a large amount of CATI Tokens. In this case, following the original Airdrop standards would severely harm the interests of genuine players and community supporters." Therefore, the Airdrop standard has been adjusted to minimize the profit speed of vKitty and instead follow 'factors that more accurately reflect real player activities, such as on-chain interactions, task completion, fish coin purchase and consumption'. Decrypt sought comment from Pluto Studio, including why it did not ban cheating players but instead changed the standards for all users, but did not receive an immediate response.
