Australia's 'Operation Siren' seizes $6.4 million Cryptocurrency related to global crime

PANews October 2nd news, according to Decrypt, the Australian Federal Police stated that as part of the investigation into the mastermind behind the encryption communication application Ghost used by organized criminal groups, they have seized $6.4 million worth of cryptocurrency. The 32-year-old suspect Jay Je Yoon Jung from New South Wales was arrested on September 17th in the 'Operation Ironside' and is currently facing multiple charges, including supporting criminal organizations. The statement said that 'Operation Ironside' has so far arrested 46 people, issued 93 search warrants, and seized 30 illegal firearms. The authorities have also prevented over 200 kilograms of illegal drugs from entering the Australian market and seized over $2.37 million in cash.
