A Bitcoin mining gang in Terengganu, Malaysia has been dismantled, suspected of stealing electricity worth 36,000 ringgit per month.
According to reports from Malay Mail, the Terengganu police in Malaysia, in conjunction with the TNB SEAL team, launched a raid in Kuala Terengganu and Marang, uncovering an illegal Bitcoin mining gang. They seized 45 mining rigs on-site, valued at approximately 225,000 Malaysian Ringgit (about 360,000 RMB). The gang is suspected of illegally tapping electricity at residential and commercial locations, causing a loss of around 36,000 Malaysian Ringgit per month.
