Exclusive Interview with OpenSea Vice President: The Company is Not Seeking to Sell, Focused on Development in Three Key Areas

Digregorio introduced the three main areas that OpenSea is currently focusing on: gaming, the native Web3 space, and the broader consumer loyalty sector. She believes that gaming is an important application scenario because gaming communities are tech-savvy, and NFTs in games can serve diverse functions.

In terms of market competition, Digregorio stated that OpenSea has different product positioning and focus compared to other platforms. OpenSea places great importance on creator tools, such as the launch of OpenSea Studio. It also pays attention to user experience, collaborating with Privy to launch the OpenSea wallet.

Regarding the prospects of the NFT market, Digregorio believes there are still many growth opportunities. She mentioned some interesting applications, such as the Web3 TV set launched by Samsung, as well as the potential of NFTs in intellectual property tracking. However, for emerging concepts like NFTFi, she thinks further observation of their development is necessary.

In terms of regional markets, Digregorio stated that different regions have their own advantages in various application scenarios of NFTs. For example, Japan and South Korea excel in the gaming sector, while North America has advantages in artistic creation and generative AI.

Regarding regulatory issues, Digregorio stated that this is not OpenSea's primary concern. She emphasized that OpenSea has always been known as a trustworthy marketplace and has implemented strong trust and security measures.

OpenSea has recently undergone several technical upgrades, including the upgrade from Seaport 1.5 to 1.6, supporting the ERC-721C standard, among others. Digregorio stated that OpenSea 2.0 will rebuild its architecture in multiple aspects to achieve faster deployment and chain integration.

Talking too much and explaining a lot is not as good as just selling it directly.
