According to TechCrunch, Microsoft's security experts said that North Korean hackers have successfully infiltrated hundreds of companies worldwide by impersonating venture capitalists, recruiters, and IT personnel, using false job identities and relying on US intermediaries to evade international sanctions. The report shows that hacker groups 'Ruby Sleet' and 'Sapphire Sleet' spread malware through forged virtual meetings and recruitment tasks, stealing over $10 million worth of encryption assets in at least six months. Especially during the pandemic, remote work has become a new breakthrough for hackers.
