What Is the Gas Fee?
The gas fee refers to the cost and expense required to perform a specific operation on the Ethereum network, which can also be seen as the computational workload required for the Ethereum network to perform a specific operation. Essentially, it is the same as the transaction fee charged by Bitcoin miners.
The gas fee is equivalent to gasoline used in cars, which serves as fuel to drive the car. The gas fee serves as the “fuel” for users to operate on the Ethereum network, consuming fuel to complete the operation. The gas fee is usually priced as a native asset of a blockchain network, represented by gwei on Ethereum, meaning giga wei (1,000,000,000 wei), and wei is the smallest unit of Ether.
The gas fee is a handling fee used to participate in the Ethereum network. The level of gas fee is determined by the Ethereum network, and Gate cannot control gas fees and will not receive any related fees.
