According to data from the independent analysis agency Castellum and publicly available information, the number of sanctions imposed on Russia since 2014 has reached nearly 29,000, with the most restrictions coming from the United States, Canada, and Switzerland. As of the end of April 2025, foreign entities have imposed approximately 28,937 non-trade sanctions on Russia. Among them, 92% were sanctions implemented since the end of February 2022. The United States has imposed the most restrictions, accounting for 25.5% of the total number of sanctions imposed by various countries, followed by Canada at 12.6% and Switzerland at 11.3%.
