Nomura: The Fed will start cutting interest rates in September, expecting a total of 75 basis points over three cuts.

Jin10 data, August 13 - Nomura's economists currently predict that the Fed will start to cut interest rates in September due to a weak labor market and reduced inflation risks. In a report, Nomura's economists wrote that the Fed may cut rates by 25 basis points at the September meeting, followed by another cut in December and March of the following year. Although the median expectation among analysts is for a 25 basis point cut within the next three months, there are differences among economists regarding the timing of the rate cuts. Nomura was previously among those institutions that expected Fed officials to ease policy later this year.
