The UN Secretary-General calls for Israel to immediately stop advancing the "E1 area" settlement plan.

Jin10 Data, August 15 - UN Secretary-General António Guterres's spokesperson, Stéphane Dujarric, issued a media statement on the 14th, saying that Guterres calls on the Israeli government to immediately halt its plans to advance the construction of settlements in the E1 area of the West Bank. The statement said that the UN's position is very clear: the settlements established and maintained by Israel in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, violate international law. The settlements further entrench the occupation, exacerbate tensions, and systematically undermine the viability of a Palestinian state as part of the "two-state solution."
